Translate Channel
The Translation Channel is offered through use of the Google Cloud Platform. Through the Translation Channel, all audio spoken is passed from Relay, Inc. (“Relay”)’s servers to the Google Cloud Platform. In accordance with the Relay Privacy Policy, Relay retains no record of the spoken audio.
Once audio is sent to the Google Cloud Platform, the audio is subject to the Google Cloud Platform Terms of Service. You can find those terms here: https://cloud.google.com/terms/
Section 5.2 of the Google Cloud Platform Terms of Service states as follows: “Use of Customer Data: Google will not access or use Customer Data except as necessary to provide the Services and TSS to Customer.” The Google Cloud Platform Data Processing and Security Terms (Customers) provides additional information about the retention, deletion and security of this Customer Data. IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT GOOGLE’S RETENTION AND/OR USE OF AUDIO THAT IS SENT UPON USE OF THE TRANSLATION CHANNEL PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT OR USE THE TRANSLATION CHANNEL ON ANY OF YOUR RELAY DEVICES.
BY ENABLING THE TRANSLATION CHANNEL ON A RELAY DEVICE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU HAVE READ THIS INFORMATION AND AGREE TO RELAY SENDING AUDIO TO GOOGLE CLOUD SERVICES WHEN AUDIO IS SPOKEN INTO THE TRANSLATION CHANNEL. YOU FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ARE AWARE OF AND ACCEPT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS SURROUNDING GOOGLE’S USE, RETENTION, SECURITY AND ANY OTHER PROVISION FOUND IN GOOGLE’S CLOUD PLATFORM AGREEMENTS REGARDING THE AUDIO YOU SEND.
